Féau Boiseries, the book

The first monograph devoted to the Féau Boiseries firm.

The first monograph devoted to the Féau Boiseries firm was published on 7 October 2020. From exceptional know-how to daring contemporary creations, it unveils the finest work of a firm that this year celebrates 145 years in business.

Introduction by Olivier Gabet

Olivier Gabet – Director of MAD (the Museum of Decorative Arts) in Paris – sets out the firm’s history in the context of the great Parisian interior decoration companies of the early 20th century such as Hoentschel, Carlhian and Jansen. These renowned firms, along with Féau Boiseries, left their mark on the French art of living.

Dream homes

The first part of the book is punctuated with photo essays tracing 21 of Féau Boiseries’ collaborations with today’s most talented interior designers. Readers can slip inside some of the world’s most beautiful homes, in Tuscany, San Francisco, London, New York, and Paris. They will discover how the firm’s outstanding collection inspires the greatest contemporary designers such as Michael S. Smith, Pierre Yovanovitch, and Anne Getty.

Patiently collected antique paneling schemes

Decorative arts enthusiasts will be captivated by the Féau collection’s archives, some wall paneling schemes from which have recently entered the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s permanent collections. They will share Guillaume Féau’s passion for collecting, as he describes his purchases and historical pieces such as decors attributed to Bélanger, Rateau, Jansen, or Ruhlmann… Selected elements that tell unique stories.
