Percier & Fontaine originals for a Tuscan palazzo

Original Percier & Fontaine boiserie, installed in the bathroom of a prestigious villa, by the interior designer Pierre-Hervé Walbaum. The carved oak has retained its original colors since 1806, making it an exceptionally rare piece. Custom-designed duotone decor on the adjoining walls.

Double door for a private apartment designed by the interior designer Michael S. Smith, at Central Park South. Restrained and very neoclassical but with a touch of Empire style because the example that inspired it has been interpreted more simply, with flat moldings. Solid oak, painted white.

Fully panelled dining room featuring Percier & Fontaine boiseries. An original creation by Féau Boiseries, made to measure for a residential interior near Paris. Cornices and marble flooring also designed and installed by the firm.

Empire and Percier & Fontaine door cladding panels

Kitchen detail: refrigerator door on the right, and double door to the dining room, ornamented with a late Louis XVI fishing trophy. The marriage of the Empire setting inspired by Percier & Fontaine, and the Louis XVI vocabulary, creates a very coherent ensemble in this luxurious private residence.

Spectacular Etruscan-inspired boiseries in faux-bronze-painted solid oak, designs for which are on show at the Decorative Arts Museum, Paris. New York, 740 Central Park South. Interior designer: Michael S. Smith. Architect: Oscar Shamamian, of Ferguson & Shamamian. Wall paneling, frames, and cornices in solid oak, painted white. Subtle sculptural detailing in the framing, inspired by the French neoclassical master Claude-Nicolas Ledoux.

Louis XVI-style double door inspired by one in the Château de Bagatelle at Neuilly, designed by Bélanger for the Count of Artois. Custom-made reproduction in resin and oak. Doorframe featuring laurel leaves. Motifs inspired by plants. Latticework effect. All typical of neoclassical architecture.
